Synopsis:
SAY GOODBYE TOTO is a play for children and adults that examines the nature of love from the point of view of the classic children’s character Toto the dog, and Dorothy, the woman he loves who can’t understand him.
The comedy is a revisionist take on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, where all the events still happen as we remember them, but filtered through the viewpoint of the stubborn little cairn terrier.

Dorothy longs for life beyond her grey Kansas. Her devoted dog, Toto, doesn’t care what’s beyond the farm, his whole world is Dorothy, and he’s sure that he’s all she needs.
But once the fateful cyclone deposits them in Oz, Toto is the first one out of the house that’s killed the Wicked Witch Of The East. Since there are no other dogs in Oz, and Toto gets the “Sparkly Shoes” off the dead Witch to present to Dorothy a gift, the assembled Munchkins determine that Toto must be a powerful sorcerer.
Dorothy and Toto meet the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Lion. They’re all enchanted brothers, courtesy of the Wizard honoring their mother’s deathbed request to make them the bravest, the most compassionate, and the smartest in all of Oz. Not happy with their transformed state, they want the Wizard to change them back, and pinpoint Dorothy’s Sparkly Shoes as their way back inside the Emerald City.

Also in the mix is a Cat, who surprisingly can understand everything Toto says, and falls in love with him, and a second mysterious Witch who’s tracking the Sparkly Shoes.
Not liking Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion’s romantic advances towards Dorothy, Toto’s desperate to get himself and Dorothy back home.
But once they reach the Emerald City and meet the Wizard – a master puppeteer – even more surprises are in store.
